Fishing was good over the weekend

Rainbow trout will be stocked this week. Fishing was good over the weekend. For bait anglers, PowerBait and worms fished on the bottom are working well. Trolling small lures from a boat is still producing. Good fly patterns include: #10 bead headed black, brown, or olive simi seal leeches and wooly buggers, zebra midge, mayfly, dragonfly, damselfly, and hoppers. Only boats with a single 10-horsepower motor (or less) or a single electric motor are allowed on Ashurst Lake. The limit is 4 trout. The lake is about 90% full and water clarity is decent. Surface temperature was 62.6 F, pH 8.43, D.O. 6.4 on 6/5/2023.

At Alamo Lake (report courtesy of Alamo Lake State Park Manager Drew Collett, 6/8/23), the bass fishing is currently good and most fish are being caught on spinner baits and lipless cranks, or drop shotting a Baby Brush Hog or worms in pumpkin or motor oil with red, silver, or blue specks.
