Big Hungry

The Daily Double came back from their AM 1/2 day trip with 51 Rockfish, 2 Whitefish and 1 Sheephead. 

Reports are coming in of school size Bluefin Tuna (25#-30#) biting this morning. Flylined Sardines seems to be the hot ticket today. The Mission Belle has room this week on their full day offshore trips. We also have room on the Oceanside 95 and T-Bird 1.5 day trips plus the El Capitan  2 day trip departing this Friday.


Recommended tackle for any of these trips would inclued a 30# live bait rod, 50# bait/jig rod and a heavy outfit with 80# or 100# for sinker rigs / knfie jigs.

Today's afternoon 1/2 day trip aboard the Daily Double is a DEFINITE GO. Only 10 passengers booked at this time. Departure time is 3:00 PM.

Offshore fishing trip:

The 2023 schedules for the El Capitan, New Lo-An, Oceanside 95 and T-Bird are now available online. Bluefin Tuna from 40# to 100# are biting in 1.5 day range. You can book your reservation through the following links:

Local trips:

The Daily Double offers ½ day trip departing everyday at 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM. They have been fishing the local kelp beds for bass, Barracuda and Rockfish. Call our office at (619) 223-1627 to book your reservation.

The Mission Belle has full day trips scheduled to fish offshore for Bluefin Tuna, Yellowtail and Bonito. Recommended tackle would be a bait rod with 25# or 30#, a jig rod with 40# or 50# and a heavy outfit with 80# or 100#. Shimano Flat Falls, Colt Snipers, Daiwa SK jigs, Salas 6Xjr’s or Tady 9’s are all excellent jigs for this trip. Trips depart at 6:00 AM. NO PASSPORT required for this trip. (Schedule)


 

9th Annual Western Outdoor News / San Diego Offshore Jackpot Tournament is scheduled for June 30th. The Oceanside 95 will be one of the boats competing in this year’s event. Ticket price is $350 and includes your $20 jackpot entry fee. Departure date is June 29th at 8:00 PM. No passport required for this trip. If you're planning on taking a trip with us this season, we encourage you to set up an appointment with one of the 3 fish processors working with Point Loma Sportfishing. If you do not have an advance reservation, there is a strong chance the processors will be unable to process your fish when you return back to the dock.
