Sunday Updates

  • Update 1:00 PM: The Sea Watch just called in with 3 Bluefin weighing between 140 to 180 pounds! Captain Ryan's recommended tackle is a 100# outfit fishing the sinker rig with a 8-12 oz hook and a 2/0 to 4/0 circle hook.
  • The Highliner checked in with us earlier this morning with 19 Bluefin tuna for their 2.5 Day trip.
  • The Tribute has 8 bluefin tuna on the boat for day two of their Two Day trip. A sinker rig on 80 pound test is the ticket for daytime fishing, and knife jigs are working well before daylight.

Saturday Reports

  • The San Diego ended their Full Day with 7 Bluefin weighing between 120-180 pounds for their 34 anglers. Captain Matt mentioned that they were seeing some larger fish in and around the zone. He recommended having a 30-40# flyline rig and 60-100# rig for fishing the sinker rig and jigs.

  • The Sea Watch finished up their day with 3 Bluefin weighing from 100-180 pounds for their 17 anglers. Captain Ryan recommended that 80lb-100lb line and 8oz to 12oz sinker rigs were working the best for the Bluefin.
