Big Hungry
Morning update: The New Lo-An called in with one day LIMITS of Bluefin on their first of a 2 day trip. The Bluefin are between 50-90 lbs with some up to 150 lbs. The Bluefin are definitely biting right now. To get on any of our trips give us a call at 619-223-1627 or book on line.
The Independence returned from a 3 day trip with 120 Bluefin and 15 Yellowtail. The Bluefin ranged from 25-180 lbs with most being between 50-90 lbs.
The Sauerfish called in on a Reverse Overnight trip with LIMITS of Bluefin for their 6 anglers. These fish are between 40-140 lbs.
Local trips:
The Mission Belle has a few trips scheduled to fish offshore for Bluefin Tuna, Yellowtail and Bonito. Recommended tackle would be a bait rod with 25# or 30# and a jigs rod with 40# or 50#. Shimano Flat Falls, Colt Snipers, Daiwa SK jigs, Salas 6Xjr’s or Tady 9’s are all excellent jigs for this trip. Trips depart at 6:00 AM. NO PASSPORT required for this trip. (Schedule)
Offshore fishing trip:
The 2023 schedules for the El Capitan, New Lo-An, Oceanside 95 and T-Bird are now available online. Bluefin Tuna from 40# to 100# are biting in 1.5 day range. You can book your reservation through the following links:

New trip added:
The Oceanside 95 has a reverse 1½ day trip scheduled over Memorial Day weekend. Departure time is 11:00 AM on Sunday, May 28th with a return time is set for 7:00 PM on Monday, May 29th. Ticket price includes fishing permits for Mexico, bait and your bunk. Food is additional. (BOOK NOW)
9th Annual Western Outdoor News / San Diego Offshore Jackpot Tournament is scheduled for June 30th. The Oceanside 95 will be one of the boats competing in this year’s event. Ticket price is $350 and includes your $20 jackpot entry fee. Departure date is June 29th at 8:00 PM. No passport required for this trip. Click the following link to book your reservation (Book Now)
FISH PROCESSING RESERVATIONS
If you're planning on taking a trip with us this season, we encourage you to set up an appointment with one of the 3 fish processors working with Point Loma Sportfishing. If you do not have an advance reservation, there is a strong chance the processors will be unable to process your fish when you return back to the dock.
