We have some striper news. Our local anglers, Tom Gallant and John Schott, were fishing from Tom's boat and landed these stripers. The larger one weighed in at 5.92 pounds and was 24 and 1/4 inches in length. They were using anchovies in the nature center area when they found this batch of fish.

This is good news as our smaller striper are coming in. We are also getting some trout stocking in the area. I have heard that small trout jigs were producing some limits. I also heard a few anglers forgot what the limit of trout is, which is 5.

As a reminder, a couple had over, and our Game and Fish officers happened to inspect their stringers. Another reminder: get your license, and it's not real hard to purchase online through the Arizona Game and Fish website. Trout have been stocked at our 3 sites: Davis Camp, Community Park, and Rotary Park. The carp are in spawn and jumping, turning up the water and making a mess in the backwaters. The largemouth bass are on the nests or close to guarding the nests.
