Hat Creek remains one of the only venues clear enough that it would be a good option to fish.. It is not on fire, per se, but you can catch fish. If you decide to come up and fish, look for Blue Wing Olives coming off for your best chances on the creek. These fish are skittish as the weed beds have died back, maximize your stealth tactics when chasing fish on the flats. For nymphs, the olive S&M in #18 tight-lined or fished under a small Chernobyl Ant dry-dropper style is how to pull fish from the sparse weed holds. Keep your eyes on the forecast as the passes getting into the valley can become icy quickly.

Hot Flies:  TB Drowned Rusty Spinner, Rubberlegs, Sweet Pea Jigged Baetis, Pheasant Tails, Mercer's Missing Link, and Green Drakes
