Spring Trout Bite Is On!

Shasta Lake is an unsettled mess right now but only in parts of the rapidly rising lake.  You have to pick your spots and look for fishable conditions.  The best fishing has been down in the main body of the lake between the Pit River Bridge and Shasta Dam.  The morning bite has been slow but if you put in your time, you'll likely see a bite in the afternoon.  The patterns are too much to pin down right now but we saw a rise in surface temps today and that could be why we saw a better bie and some of our biggest trout of the season so far.  I'll be fishing Shasta until the 31st and will move to the river for a short Striped bass season before returning to Shasta Lake for the remainder of the summer and fall seasons.  Keep checking back for more Shasta Lake fishing reports in the coming weeks.  If you're looking for big trout this year, Shasta Lake is the place to be!  Summer dates are available now so give Jaynie a call at (530) 510-2925 for more information and upcoming seasons.
