The trout bite is exceptional right now along Senior Shoreline and I know this partly because I have been interrupted twice as I attempt to write this report to take pictures of big rainbows that were caught there. Big trout of the week belongs to John Tester of Vista who caught a 9.60# trout on a powerbait/nightcrawler combo on Senior Shore. Other notable catches are Sam Johnson’s 8.70# & 7.50#, Greg Edward’s 7.80#, Elliot Berquist’s 5.80#, and Anthony Lopez’s 5.80#. Power worms and nightcrawlers are what is working. Chartreuse is the color of choice.

Several nice sized crappie have been weighed in as of late. They were caught near Bass Point or the Crappie Float on mini-jigs or live golden shiners. Crappie prefer the cover of shade and bite best in the early mornings and late afternoons
