Ice in the marinas has firmed up with recent cold temperatures

Utah Division of Wildlife

Ice in the marinas has firmed up with recent cold temperatures. Ice thickness both inside and outside the marinas is varied, with ice sheet movement and stacking occurring throughout the lake. Anglers fishing from the courtesy docks at Utah Lake State Park report an ice thickness of 2 to 4 inches. Fishing through the ice is fair to good for white bass and yellow perch using jigs tipped with nightcrawler or mealworm. Anglers fishing the tributaries are also reporting fair to good fishing for white bass, black crappie, bluegill, common carp and largemouth bass using nightcrawler. Use extreme caution, particularly if/when fishing outside the marinas and harbors. An ice safety guide is available here.
