More Trinity River steelhead

The Trinity River has been fishing a little tougher the last 3 days, the mornings have been cold, around 29 degrees and taking awhile for it to warm up. This does play a factor on the fishing. It slows the bite down. We got rain in the forecast so things will pick back up. February on the trinity we typically start seeing the biggest fish of the season, we have had our shots at a half dozen big fish. Back trolling mag lips have been picking up the most bites. Throwing blue fox spinners has definitely been the ticket. Or spoons and bouncing them off the big boulders that these steelhead are around. So definitely have a box of mag lips and hot shots, size 50's in silver copper or gold. Fly fishing guys are doing well with red copper John's, rubber legs, princess, golden stones, pheasant tails, orange hard or soft beads. The water is a perfect steelhead green color. The fish seem to be holding in the canyon up through Indian creek more then anywhere. Check out my website for more info justinthompsonfishing.com
