Jordanelle Reservoir Ice Update

1-12-2023
Utah Division of Wildlife

The bay immediately north of the Hailstone boat ramp and the Rock Cliff arm is frozen, with 3 to 6 inches of ice. The PWC ramp and area near the dam are ice free, allowing anglers to launch and fish open water. Float tube fly anglers fishing this area are catching rainbow trout and brown trout using balanced leech patterns paired with a medium- to fast-sinking line. The northern portion of the reservoir, toward Ross Creek, is a mixture of thin ice and open water. We discourage anglers from attempting to fish from the ice in this area. Anglers are also strongly encouraged to avoid fishing the ice near the river inlet/river channel on the Rock Cliff side, as the ice is thin and sketchy in areas.
