Pit 3 and 4 look to be in good shape
12-15-2022
The Fly Shop
Pit 3 & 4 look to be in good shape. The gage on Pit 7 is showing quite a bit of turbidity, it is probably coming from the JB Black Powerhouse from the McCloud. Rubberlegs and Olive Hotspots, Black Perdigons, and in slower water sculpin patterns being the top producers. Good flies remain Amberwing Prince Nymphs, the red Hollopoint, black Perdigon, and any of the Jigged Bird's Nests. Traveling over into the Pit drainage below Lake Britton can be tricky, so watch the forecast and be aware there could be icy patches down in the canyon.
As always, the flows on the Pit can and will change without notice, so definitely check before you go! And be prepared to get out when the river begins to rise.
Here are some useful links to monitor the flows:

Pit 5 - Through Big Bend
