Fish Report for 11-22-2022
Stillaguamish River opens for coho salmon retention
11-22-2022
WA Department of Fish & Wildlife Staff
Action: Opens coho salmon retention
Effective date: Nov. 23 through Nov. 30, 2022
Species affected: Coho salmon
Location: Stillaguamish River from Marine Drive (south of Stanwood) to the forks
Rules: Salmon daily limit is two coho salmon. Minimum size is 12". Release all salmon other than coho salmon. Night closure in effect. Selective gear rules in effect.
Reason for action: Salmon fishing closures are no longer necessary to protect Chinook salmon, as they have finished spawning and are no longer present in the system. Coho salmon returns are sufficient to allow for this limited fishery.
Additional information: Anglers can be notified of in-season rule changes by downloading the FishWA app or signing up for fishery change notifications by email at https://wdfw.wa.gov/about/lists.
Information contact: Mill Creek Regional Office, 425-775-1311.
