Lake Jennings Fishing Report

Lake Jennings Staff

Stocking: The first stocking was last week, November 14th where 2,500 pounds was stocked for the opener. The next stocking is the week of November 28th where 1,500 pounds of rainbows will be stocked. Ten percent of every stock is over 3 pounds.

What's the catch? Limits of trout were pulled all weekend from the shoreline. Sight fishing was plentiful in Hermit and Siesta Coves. By Sunday, the stock had made it's way to Eagle Point and the campground shoreline. Powerbait and mini jigs were reeling them in. Our rangers recommend using a garlic scented powerbait to mask human smell. Shorelines in the shallows were full of anglers, so to avoid the crowds, rent a motorboat or kayak. Our fishing kayaks are comfortable, easy to navigate around the lake, and have pole holders.
The panfish bite has been active! Anglers are catching 10-15 Bluegill at a time over the past several weekends. They are reeling them in on a piece of night crawler in the back of Eagle Cove and along the campground shoreline.

Conditions: The water temperature around the boat dock is 70 degrees. The district is filling the lake, so be mindful of newly submerged structure when boating. The sun is rising around 6:21 a.m. and setting at 4:45 p.m. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
