BSB bite
11-18-2022
Royal Polaris Crew
The BSB bite is tonight. Good day everyone, well today the weather was beautiful, flat seas, clear skies, and sunny. We fished most of the night hoping for White Sea Bass to bite, but only the Calico Bass bite.
We spent most of the day moving up, trying different areas, then around 15:00 hours, we dropped the anchor, and BANG!!! We had a good one going. The battle lasted all of 40 minutes, on light tackle, fishing for Calico Bass. But once the battle was over, we would land our first Black Sea Bass of the trip. A nice 120-pound fish, but wait, there's more.
We would land another 7 fish in the 80 to 120+ size range. The good thing about this, all 8 anglers had never caught a Black Sea Bass before (RP Showers) for all. We will finish the trip off here, spend a few hours after dinner, then start heading north to San Diego.
What a trip. We caught Black Sea Bass, Calico Bass, Grouper, Yellowfin tuna, Bluefin tuna, Wahoo, Pargo, Wahoo, Yellowtail, Pinto Bass, and golden spotted sand bass. What a trip. What a great trip for the boat and our passengers. Not much more to report, just good fishing and good weather. Team R/p.
