The hatchery coho run is definitely winding down on the North fork

The North Fork Nehalem gets an early returning run of hatchery winter steelhead; the first couple of which have already made it back to the hatchery trap. Numbers will probably be low for another couple of weeks, but there are at least a couple in the river.
The hatchery coho run is definitely winding down on the North fork with the majority of fish having already returned to the hatchery and those that are left getting dark and poor quality. We are seeing some coho jacks from the new wild broodstock program that are still in good shape.
There are also a few Chinook available in the North Fork, and they are spread throughout the fishery. This run will be winding down the next couple weeks as well.
