As of 10/20/22, Angler’s Covey reports “Out of all of the lakes in South Park, Antero has been fishing the best as of late. We have seen some very cold overnight temps with some above average daytime temps. These cooler temps will "kick off" a lot of stillwater fishing right now. This transition time usually turns the fishing on and we should see that happen any day now. Keep this in mind if you experience a slow day out there. Look for the later mornings to be best. We are also in a transition period where the food sources will change a bit. Things should start to turn more towards leaches, chironomids, eggs, scuds and streamers. Use small midges this time of year. Size 20's have been a staple the last 2 weeks. Please be aware of the spawning nets CPW has placed throughout the lake. They will be conducting their spawning operation through this week. Please refrain from fishing 200 feet from these locations, it’s actually the law. Shore fishing has turned on a bit and we are seeing increased success from the bank. Being in some kind of watercraft is still the most ideal method.Particularly so you can move around more easily. Both boat ramps are open and kayak/float tuber anglers can launch from anywhere on the lake. The next few days heading into the weekend will be beautiful. It looks like we may have the potential for some snow on Saturday night. Saturday will also be very windy. We will return to cooler temps to start next week. The mornings will be quite chilly. Fish are feeding opportunistically all over the lake. Static nymphing and slow stripping chironomids(very early),wooly buggers, scuds and leeches have been effective.

Zebra midge-black & red, #16-20, Balanced leaches, red, black, purple, green #10-16.
Streamers: Fall is a great time to throw streamers in still water. Look for light, white, or natural colored patterns to really
start producing.
Pike Bunnies, Double Gonga's, and larger articulated flies are periodically taking tiger Muskie.”
