Labor day weekend at Shasta Lake was a hot trout biting affair.

The Labor day weekend traffic had no effect on the hot trout bite at Shasta Lake. The action continues to be steady and often red hot.  The last few trips we have had multiple double hook ups, a triple hook up and even a 4 rod hook up.

The trout continue to feed heavy on the shad. Trolling deep between 50 and 100 ft has been the hot zone. Dodgers and spoons tipped with nightcrawler and shad imitation plugs lathered in Pro-Cure threadfin shad gel have been working best for me.
