What a difference between this summer and last on the Truckee River

What a difference between this summer and last on the Truckee River.
Low 80’s, and no smoke. Big puffy Simpson clouds every afternoon, and even some rain. Rained all morning last Saturday. Kinda feels like the Truckee I remember.
The forecast looks like more of the same. Awesome August weather. Few more weeks, and we’ll start dipping in the 30’s and night. Crazy, how fast Fall will creep in.
I would say the fishing is good. Flows are good too. Boca is still completely full to the top. It’s never been this full. They drained the the lake the last few years for construction to raise the dam. They filled it to the brim this Summer, so it should bode well for us this Fall. Boca Reservoir is where we get most of our water on the middle and lower river from. It sure will be fun to do them Streamer floats come October here in the backyard. They’ll eat the big dries too in the Fall. I’ve missed out on that the last couple years due to low flows.
Out East on the lower Truckee River, that stuff needs some time to cool off. Come about mid-September, it’ll start fishing. Flows are a bit low through there now due to water getting pulled out of the river for the city of Reno. Flows will come back up in September.
The ESN clinic on the 20th is full. I can open up one on the 21st if anyone if interested.
