Lake Jennings Weekly Report

6-20-2022
Lake Jennings Staff

  • Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,000 pounds the week of June 6th. The next stocking of 1,000 pounds will be the week of July 4th. The catfish stocking schedule can be viewed HERE.
  • What's the catch? The panfish are biting in Cloister and Half Moon Cove. They bite through the warmest hours of the day. Nightcrawlers and meal worms are tried and true. Catfish were biting in Hermit and Siesta Coves this weekend after sunset. Cut mackerel, nightcrawlers, and chicken liver reeled in cats averaging between 2-4 pounds each. The bass were biting in the early morning hours. Most were under 12 inches and released. It's hard for the  bass to resist a nightcrawler just make sure to pierce the worm a few times leaving the end dangling. No reports of trout biting this weekend, but that's not surprising since the water is warming up. Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! You can tag us @lakejennings on social media or email them to ranger@lakejennings.org.
  • Conditions: The surface temperature around the boat dock is 74 degrees. The sun is rising around 5:40 a.m. and setting around 7:53 p.m. New Moon is June 28th. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
