The San Diego had a great day on the water on their Full Day trip today with 46 Bluefin ranging from 30-100 pounds for their 34 anglers. Captain Matt said that the sinker rig and jigs were the best option today but they did have an opportunity for some flyline fish as well.

For Full Day gear recommendations its best to have a 40# setup for flyline with size 1 or 2 circle hooks, and an 80/100# rig for the sinker rig and jigs. Jigs from 150-250 grams worked the best and Captain Matt recommended 4-12 oz sinkers for the sinker rig with size 2/0 or 3/0 hooks. Another important note is to NOT have heavy night time leaders on your jigs. Captain Matt recommended having a 100# bite leader for your jigs to maintain that stealthy approach. If you do need any jigs re-leadered the experts in the tackle shop are more than happy to assist you.

The Tribute called in earlier this morning from their 1.5 Day trip with 8 Bluefin Tuna on the boat. The fish are in the 100 to 180 pound range. The Tribute still has room on their 1.5 Day departing tomorrow so grab a spot while you still can!

The Pacifica also reported in earlier today from the first day of their 2.5 Day Trip with 22 Bluefin on the boat to get things started. Their fish are in the 40 to 110 pound range.

The New Seaforth once again had an awesome day of inshore Calico Bass fishing. The AM trip ended with 65 legal Bass for 31 anglers and the PM caught 110 legal Bass for 23 anglers! The inshore fishing is hard to beat right now, if you want to get out there then now is the time!
