Santee Lakes Fishing Report

6-4-2022
Santee Lakes Staff

How's it going everyone! We stocked Lakes 2,4,6, and 7 with catfish yesterday! Popular baits for catfish are nightcrawlers, garlic nightcrawlers, stinkbait, shrimp, and mackerel. The east and west shorelines of Lake 4 have been very popular recently, as well as the south shoreline of Lake 2. In honor of our first night fishing event this year, above is a photo from last years night fishing. A quick reminder that night fishing begins at 5pm and goes until 11:30 pm. Bring a lantern, some friends, and make some memories! The bass bite has been very consistent lately as well. Most bass right now are being caught off of jerkbaits, and top water baits! We hope to see you out here soon!

Save Our Lakes
Here at Santee Lakes, we deeply value our abundant wildlife and pristine landscape. We work very hard to take care of the animals that call this place home and on keeping this place clean and presentable so our park patrons also can fully enjoy the scenery and their time here. However, we are still fighting a never ending battle of litter. Pictured above is two hours worth of cleaning up the shorelines of just one lake. Whether its fishing line, food wrappers, plastic bottles, crumpled up receipts, etc. if you pack it in, you need to pack it out or throw it away. We have many garbage / fishing line receptacles throughout the park for you to dispose of any unwanted trash. It is imperative that we all make a better effort at leaving wherever you go in life cleaner than when you found it. Everyone, including the wildlife, will thank you.
