Lower Otay Reservoir Staff
With the spawn in full swing, bass fishing has been excellent. Fishing up against the tullies or fishing shallow will almost guarantee at least a bite from an aggressive male. Drop shotting small roboworms continues to be a great and productive method, but also senkos, jerk bait and other reaction baits.
Additionally there have been a few reports of panfish and catfish. Mealworms, wax worms and crickets are recommended for bluegill. Live shiners and crappie rigs for the crappie. Fresh mackerel, chicken liver and shrimp are always the go to baits for channels and big blues.
Water temperature: 66 degrees
