Rusty
We have some good news and that is our striper bite is starting. There are anglers reporting stripers being landed in various locations around our area. This is happening mostly here below the Davis Dam on the shores of the Colorado River.
Our angler that I am next two is Lillian Reichow. While she was fishing along with a group of various anglers in the city’s event at the nature center she landed this striper. There were youths of all ages and skills practicing their skills and acquiring new skills while having fun and learning to fish. Lillian was fishing from the shore using anchovies and landed this 2.4-pound striper at 18 and 5/8 inches. The event turned out to be a huge success and all had a great time. I might add that this size fish is what is being reported in our area.
For our anglers that target the Largemouth Bass I ask please at this time of year that you catch and release in the same area so the bass will go back to their nest to protect the fry (baby fish). After the female lays her eggs, the male will guard them until the fry are large enough to have a chance to make it on their own. Little baby nemos so to say. One the largemouth bass move on the pan fish will begin their spawn and will prepare their own nests.
Up on Lake Mohave the largemouth bass and small mouth bass are running in the 3-to-6-pound range, not much word on the stripers on the lake as of yet but should start soon.
Hope this helps some for now we look forward to seeing you in soon to share that story and catch. Mostly thanks so much for all of the support Now Go Catch A fish Rusty Riviera Marina 520 Riviera Blvd. Bullhead City Az. 928-763-8550

Colorado River - LaughlinThis is a tough month for our anglers not much to report except its slow and the fish won't bite. I did here of one angler landing a striper in the Chaparral area. While fishing from shore using anchovies in the 18 in range but outside of that the winds have kept all inside. We are starting to get some nicer weather, with this weather change we should get both anglers out there fishing and fish out there biting. Up on...... Read More
