Windy weather kept most of the anglers home last week

The lake held near 90 percent of capacity, and fishing has been fair. Windy weather kept most of the anglers home last week, but a few determined anglers reported decent striper and catfishing. Line sides ate cut sardines, anchovies, and nightcrawlers in 20 to 80 feet of water near Glory hole, Yellowbar, and the Marina. Striper also fell for trolled umbrella rigs in 25 feet of water. Catfish anglers used dip bait, chicken liver, and cut sardines near sandy flats and in deeper coves around the lake. Bass anglers reported fair fishing while using drop shot, Texas rigs, and Ned rigs, but some bass were also reported up tight to bluff walls. Crankbaits scored bites in the mornings, and jerkbaits got bite in the mud lines after the wind picked up.
