Attend Upcoming North Coast MLPA Public Workshop -
Now is your chance to learn more about the
Marine Life Protection Act

The Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) Initiative is holding a public workshop in three locations in northern California. These workshops will allow the public to review the north coast Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) planning process, learn about the necessary components of an MPA proposal, receive training in MarineMap (MLPA Initiative's online mapping tool), be introduced to the science and feasibility guidelines, and learn about the next steps in the planning process.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at:
* Red Lion Inn
1929 Fourth Street
Eureka, CA 95501
In addition, the workshop will be webcast simultaneously at the following staffed satellite locations:
* Best Western Northwoods Inn
655 U.S. Highway 101 South
Crescent City, CA 95531

* CV Starr Community Center
300 South Lincoln Street
Fort Bragg, CA 95437
Participants at the satellite locations will be able to interact directly with the Eureka workshop. RSVPs are requested for in-person participation, and can be made by calling 916-654-1885 or by emailing dga_mlpa@sbcglobal.net.

The public can also participate from their home or office through the teleconference or by using an online webinar tool that allows questions to be submitted via the Internet. Details on how to participate from home or office are available here:
