EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR

Much of the reservoir has 6 to 8 inches of ice. Anglers have found success using orange PowerBait and night crawlers. Verify ice conditions before walking on it. For up-to-date information on conditions contact Spring Valley State Park at 775-962-5102.

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR

The reservoir is still mostly covered by ice too thin to walk on. There have been some small patches of open water anglers can reach from shore. For up-to-date ice conditions contact Echo Canyon State Park at 775-962-5103.

LAKE MEAD

Black bass action is steadily improving in pockets all over the reservoir. Ned rigs with green pumpkin worms and Rat-L-Traps are popular choices. Crappies are hitting hard plastics in the early morning in the shallows throughout the Overton Arm. Striped bass are cruising deeper water. Try jigging shad lures in at least 40 feet of water.

LAKE MOHAVE/WILLOW BEACH

Rainbow trout up to 4 pounds are hitting jointed swimbaits just offshore at Willow Beach. Smaller fish are taking combinations of PowerBait and mice tails. Lake Mohave anglers are trolling for striped bass at the south end. Fish close to 10 pounds have been caught on shad swimbaits.

LAUGHLIN

Stripers are attacking Glide Baits just below the dam and along Casino Row. Rainbow trout anglers are tempting fish with a variety of flashy spinners, but night crawlers are working well too. Black bass action has been slow. Anglers are struggling to coax the fish out of deep and weedy pockets.

 WAYNE E. KIRCH WMA

Ice conditions are not safe for fishing. Shoreline access is limited. Visitors are encouraged to use extreme caution.

URBAN PONDS

Anglers are finding good fishing for rainbow trout following recent fish plants. The fish have been taking a variety of worms, bright-colored Rooster Tails, and rainbow-colored PowerBait. Cold mornings have slowed catfish and bass fishing. The limit is three fish regardless of species. Check the regulations before heading out and please use the recycle bins at the ponds for unwanted fishing line and tackle.
