Lake Mohave Stripers
1-19-2022
Rusty
We have a couple of stripers are local anglers brought in while fishing up on Lake Mohave. Richard Erdmann and Raul Gonzalez had to troll for about 4 hours to land these 2 stripers. Richard's striper was 8.26 pounds and 29 and 1/2 inches while Rauls fish was 7/44 pounds at 27 and 1/4 inches. they were trolling with their favorite swim bait. I have been hearing that the soft baits have been doing well up on Lake Mohave.
Here along the Colorado river below the Davis Dam the glide baits seem to do better. I did hear of some striper activity near the dam and just below the casino area. so if you are having any success, please let us know. We are still getting rainbow trout brought in from the Willow Beach Hatchery. The stocking site has been for this time of year at community park. Anglers are having some great luck using night crawlers and power bait which has been producing limits of 5 rainbows. Various trout jigs and spinners have been producing some limits of trout also. When you are not getting any hits on your spinners try switching to bait and the same goes for you bait anglers you might have to throw out a lure to make that catch.
Hope this helps some for now and we look forward to seeing you in soon to share that catch and the story that goes with it.
