Volunteer opportunity: Fish habitat enhancement at Saguaro Lake
1-1-2022
Arizona Game & Fish Department
The Arizona Game and Fish Department will be installing donated Christmas trees at Saguaro Lake on Saturday, Jan. 8, starting at 8:30 a.m. Meet at the Butcher Jones Recreation Area. Those interested in participating must register as a volunteer with AZGFD by Jan. 7 (you can create an account if you don’t already have one).
Volunteers are asked to please bring your Christmas tree (if you have one) free of any decorations, and also bring a pair work gloves. The City of Mesa is also providing some Christmas trees picked up from its drop-off locations. If the weather looks bad the day of the project, volunteers will be notified with an email about the event cancellation, and the install day will be moved to another day. If you have any questions, contact Bryant Dickens at (623) 236-7593.
