Fish Report for 12-24-2021
Spotted bass have gone deeper in the water column
12-24-2021
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
Kaweah Lake fell to 12 percent of capacity, and the spotted bass have gone deeper in the water column. Anglers reported biting fish in 20 to 40 feet of water, and the bass went for drop shot, small jigs, and creature baits. One successful angler described “slowly sweeping the bottom” with his offerings. Vertical spoons and ice jigs have also been working for bites after anglers locate schooled up bass with their electronics. Trout anglers worked for bites last week, but there are still biting trout in Kaweah. Dough baits, Mousetails, and get bent baits worked to fool fish. Catfish ate cut sardines, mackerel, and dip bait.
