The Fly Shop
The storms are bringing the river up and blowing the lower end of the river out on the peak flows. We'd recommend fishing above Pollard Flat to find clean water. Try your sculpin patterns near the bottom. At this point in the season the insects that will be hatching will be Blue Wing Olives and midges, Sweet Peas, Zebra Midges, S&Ms will continue to be the best producers for those dead drifting or high sticking nymphs. Interstate 5 will become messy and can close when the storms get going, so plan your trip accordingly and keep an eye on the Caltrans site for road conditions.
