Fish Report for 12-4-2021
The trout bite has been outstanding
12-4-2021
Big Bear Sporting Goods
December is here which means two things: the trout bite is outstanding and the launch ramps are closed for the season. Luckily, the fish are hugging the bank, so there’s really no need to get off the shoreline anyway. The water conditions are great just about everywhere, so pick a point and cast a Carolina rig out with an inflated night crawler or some brightly colored PowerBait. An 18-24 inch leader will put you in the strike zone. There has also been some action on mini jigs and small spinners concentrated around sunrise and sunset. We saw a lot of big fish coming in this fall, and it looks like that trend is going to continue through the winter.
Check out this massive 9.24lb. beauty caught by Cole, the newest team member at Big Bear Sporting Goods. His fish is the largest trout we have weighed at the store so far this year. There are still a few weeks left of 2021, though, so get out there and see if you can top it!
