EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR

The upper portion of the reservoir is covered by a thin sheet of ice most of the day. The best access for shore fishing is off the main shoreline or dam. ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR

Overnight temperatures are putting a thin cover of ice near the intake. Anglers have been catching rainbow trout using night crawlers or PowerBait. For up-to-date ice conditions, contact Echo Canyon State Park at 775-962-5103.

LAKE MEAD 

Striper boils are hit and miss in the Boulder Basin and should keep tapering off. Live shad is the bait of choice, but a variety of shad-patterned lures are landing fish, too. Black bass anglers are having luck with topwater lures and soft plastics fished on dropshots in the Callville Bay area. Catfish in the 12-inch range and larger are taking anchovies and stink baits overnight in Las Vegas Bay.

LAKE MOHAVE/WILLOW BEACH

Willow Beach anglers are finding good action for rainbow trout. Try a combination of PowerBait and night crawlers or your favorite spinner. Katherine Landing is a hotspot for large striped bass. Anglers are experimenting with topwater lures, Rat-L-Traps, and swimbaits in shad patterns. Black bass are attacking soft plastics on Ned rigs in green pumpkin and watermelon red..

LAUGHLIN

The striper bite is slow along the river, but shore fishing for rainbow trout has kept anglers busy. Trout jigs in greens and yellows are landing fish as large as 2 pounds. Spinners, night crawlers, and glitter PowerBait are also working well.

 WAYNE E. KIRCH WMA

With recent trout plants, anglers are having better-than-average success in the mornings. Rooster Tails, olive nymphs, and Woolly Buggers are generally productive. Thin ice is starting to form along the shoreline in the mornings. As the ice thaws throughout the day, the edges remain muddy.

URBAN PONDS

The Nevada Department of Wildlife stocked rainbow trout at Cold Creek, Floyd Lamb, Sunset, and Veterans’ Memorial Park ponds. Anglers have had success using rainbow PowerBait and night crawler pieces. The stocked rainbows are averaging about 8 inches in length. Anglers out on warm afternoons are catching bluegill and catfish at Floyd Lamb and Sunset parks using sliced hot dogs and night crawlers.
