OPEN for FISHING SEASON 2021 –

PYRAMID LAKE WATERCRAFT INSPECTION AND DECONTAMINATION STATION WILL REOPEN OCTOBER 1ST

The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe is Opening the Inspection Station to Protect Tribal Waters from Aquatic Invasive Species

October 1, 2021 – Sutcliffe, NV – Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation

The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe’s Watercraft Inspection and Decontamination (WID) Station in Sutcliffe, NV will be OPEN on October 1, 2021 and is located at the junction of Sutcliffe Drive and State Route 445. It is mandatory for all watercraft to stop when the WID Station is open. Look for the Open and Closed signs along Pyramid Highway near the Creel Station and north of Nixon along State Route 446. Please act in accordance to all signs and enter the WID Station off State Route 445 and follow instructions

for the inspection process. If a Pyramid Lake Certified Inspector finds any water, mud, plants, animals, or other conditions that may harbor aquatic invasive species, the boat will require a professional decontamination or must follow proper Clean, Drain, and Dry Procedures prior to launching at Pyramid Lake.

Please prepare for the inspection: CLEAN off all debris, mud, plants, and animals from every part of the watercraft, trailer, and equipment, DRAIN all water from the motor, bilge, ballast tanks, live well, baitwell, and any raw water systems, and DRY all compartments, equipment, storage areas, anchor locker, lines, etc. To expedite the inspection process, please arrive Clean, Drained, and Dry so you can get out on the water without delay! All inspected watercraft will receive an inspection receipt that must

be placed on the dashboard of their vehicle.

At this time, non-motorized, hand-launched watercraft are exempt from the inspection process, but are asked to fill out a Self-Inspection Form prior to launch and deposit in one of the drop-box locations:

Popcorn Rock, Pelican Boat Ramp, and the Ranger Station.

Anyone found that is not in compliance with the inspection process or launches potentially contaminated with aquatic invasive species may be subject to a fine for unlawful acts up to $5,000.
