Rock Creek Lake Fishing Report

9-21-2021
The Fly Shop

The rains this past weekend have all but put the Dixie Fire out eliminating most of the smoke. With clear skies and cooling weather, this is a great place to go right now. Fishing has been consistently midges in the morning, damsels and dragons during the day, and Caddis in the evening. Patrol the shoreline with a black beetle pattern. The wind knocks them into the lake from the bushes and these fish learn fast. Zack's Balanced Damsel under an indicator is deadly here. Beetles during the day fished near the shore wil always pick up cruising fish. The evening Caddis hatch will have you either tying on a Missing Link or Adams, or wishing you had some to throw. Sizes to pack include #16 - 20. We've got availability this October, give Chris or Bryan a call to see which dates are available.
