Fish Report for 9-24-2021
Overall fishing has been solid
9-24-2021
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
Lake Isabella opened for fishing last week after the National forests closure was lifted here. Isabella is holding at 9 percent capacity and the overall fishing has been solid since the opening. There was a Bass tournament last weekend and the first-place team had a bag just over 23 pounds. Our contacts reported quality Bass were to 8 pounds coming on deep diving crankbaits, jigs, and large worms. Top water is producing in the early morning and late afternoon. The Crappie bite has the most improvement, with slabs coming around structure and near the dam on minijigs, flicker shad and live minnows. Trout fishing from shore has been slow, but boat anglers trolling flicker shad have been connecting in deeper water. The Catfish bite is solid with quality Whiskerfish to 10 pounds coming on Triple S Dip Bait, frozen shad, and shrimp.
