Fires in and around the Trinity Alps continue to bring a lot of smoke in the mid to upper river sections. The National Forests are closed at least through September 17th. Keep an eye out for highway closures if you are headed to The Klamath, on the coast or up on the top end.
The lower river has a lot of salmon showing up and heading upstream. There are reports of some good numbers of steelhead entering the lower river as well, mainly half pounders, but some adults. So far the season is starting off on a good foot.
