Bluefin biting again

9-2-2021
Markus Medak

Good fishing yesterday at the offshore banks.  We scratched a few smaller bluefin and yellowfin in the 25-35# class on sardines, but also picked up a few trophies in the 100-230# class. Biggest fish of the day was caught by longtime NLA regular Gary Weaver on the kite and weighed 230#.  Two other cows were caught on jigs as well as 10 more fish from100# to 190# caught on jigs, sardines and the kite.  A couple other boats had excellent anchor fishing and scratched out limits of school bluefin from 25-60#.

Cover photo is of my Dad and I with his P.B. bluefin tuna at 206# caught on 80 lb and a flat fall.

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 223-1627 to get in on the action.
