Larry Edwards
Unbelievably clear water, according to Captain Temo Verboonen, as we
can see the bottom at 20 meters. The inshore action remains very
good with good jack cravelle catches at the rocks and plenty of
dorado still in the area. The sailfish bite was a little slower this
past week but remained close to the bay at 7 miles. Roosterfish are
still on the rampage and the best action is on the red-white pencil
poppers casted in the surf line. The roosters are hanging in the
surf line where the waves break.
IZ Climate: Partly cloudy days and warm nights, with temps from 72
nights to 94 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Excellent! 88 degrees inshore and rising to 89
degrees offshore, with very little swell and light surface breezes.
Best Bait: For the type of fishing going on right now, I recommend
live bait when available, as well as red & white pencil poppers in
the 8-inch sizes.
Live Bait Supply: No problem at all for the caballiots.
