Royal Polaris - Yellows on the Prowl 7/18/09

7-18-2009
Royal Polaris Crew

Hello everyone;

With the weather on the roll offshore, we made the move to Cedros island. We had 15 to 18 knots of breeze in the morning, but by the afternoon, it was flat seas, clear skies, and sunny.

We had limit style fishing on Yellowtail. Most of the Yellowtail were in the 15 to 18 pound range, with a few going over the 20 pound mark. After we caught our limit on Yellows, we spent some time catching Calico bass. Kathy Rounds caught a small White Sea Bass (released). We are now headed north, and we will try our luck at some Red rock-cod tomorrow.

So until my fingers and key board meet again, wish us luck on the weather. The R/p crew (Roy, Dharyl, Billy, John, Cole, Todd, James, and Brett).

Hi folks; Weather today was quite uncomfortable with a good size swell and 15 to 20 knots of breeze. Fishing was also very poor on a whole as we caught 12 Albacore, 3 Bluefin tuna and 4 Yellowtail for the day. There were boats today that caught 30 to 40 Albacore, but unfortunately even thought we were in the area all day we never caught a fish after lunch. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
