The Shores Along The Colorado River Below the Davis Dam Makes For Some Nice Fishing
6-18-2021
Rusty
Look where we live or I might say what a great area. The shores here along the Colorado river below the Davis dam makes for some nice fishing. We have our local anglers Chris Vasquez, Joe Baca and our local marital arts instructor Ben Aleman with a nice catch of stripers. They were on Bens boat in the big bend area using anchovies.
This weeks Mohave high school fishing club were fishing from shore in the nature center area. This group were able to land a few stripers and one trout while fishing from shore. The rainbow weighed in at 1.68 pounds and was 16 and 5/8 inches. This was Selah Boyds first trout. The rest of the gang did ok and we have Jayline Newsom, Kamila Gutierrez and brother Gahel Gutierrez along with Gabriela Manzo-Nader with the help of David Nader.
With our weather getting a bit on the warm side I have been hearing that most anglers are getting out in the morning or late to early evenings. This is a great time to be out there and our shore line has been producing a few stripers in some of the favorite spots the community park area along the casino row on either side of the river, Rotary park has some great spots to get a line wet and can produce some of our larger fish. This is just to name a few spots along the river. Up on Lake Mohave I have heard of some catfish action on the Nevada side telephone cove area also by the coves by the poser lines can be productive. I have gotten word some anglers were having luck trolling an umbrella rig around the basin and having some success. Not much word from the marsh as of yet I am assuming the carp have the water all stirred up while they are in spawn and the large mouth bass are or might be watching the fry as of yet. This will be over soon and these fish are going to be hungry and aggressive. Hope this helps for now and we look forward to having you stop in with that catch and to share your story mostly thanks for all of your support Now go Catch A Fish Rusty Riviera Marina 520 Riviera Blvd. Bullhead City AZ. 928-763-8550
