The Fall River has been really productive as of late. Fish are spread out across the river. Looking for spots that don’t see much action is well worth the effort. The cool weather will likely mean good blue winged olive hatches. Pale morning duns will probably be out during warmer parts of the day. Try terrestrials if you don’t see any predominante hatches. Don’t expect large caddis emergences, but never count them out completely. Pupa are always on the menu, they work quite well if fish seem to be feeding above the bottom. For nymphs, midges are always a great bet. Small mayfly nymphs get attention too and jigged euro flies can be really helpful for getting your rig to the bottom. While it’s cool and cloudy the fish are more keen to hit surface flies and they can be easier to fool. A cool wet June can do wonders for preventing wildfire later in the summer, hopefully this weather sticks around.
