EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR

The park was full of anglers catching their limits of rainbows and tigers. Trout action has been best at sunrise and sunset. They are taking sunset PowerBait and night crawlers. Action for bass and crappie has been picking up throughout the day. They are hitting on olive and orange jigs. Anglers must catch and release bass through June 30.

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR

Largemouth bass have been hitting on imitation crawdads and worms in darker colors. Green tube baits, bright jigs, and night crawler pieces have brought in the crappie. Fishing is good through the morning and slows significantly in the afternoon.

LAKE MEAD
Triple digit temperatures have arrived which means most anglers are fishing between dusk and dawn. Striped bass in the 2-3-pound range are taking a variety of lures and live bait. Crankbaits and jigs are tempting largemouth bass in the coves of Boulder Basin. Bluegill and catfish action is best throughout the Las Vegas Bay for shore anglers. Corn and anchovies are working well for catfish. Bluegill are biting night crawlers under bobbers.

LAKE MOHAVE/WILLOW BEACH

Over the weekend, shore anglers brought in limits of rainbow trout at Willow Beach. Tube jigs and spinners landed fish between 2-4 pounds. Striped bass are cruising the deeper water waiting for the perfectly presented swimbait in the early morning hours. On Lake Mohave, black bass are keeping boaters busy. Soft plastics, like chigger craws and spider jigs, are landing small fish in the 3-5 pound range.

LAUGHLIN

Striper between 2-5 pounds are hitting anchovies and swimbaits on the Colorado River. Some striper anglers throwing topwater lures are being surprised with smallmouth bass catches instead. Rainbow trout are reportedly hanging tight in pools south of Big Bend State Recreation Area. Spinners, tube jigs, and night crawlers have resulted in success.  .

 WAYNE E. KIRCH WMA

Barbless hooks are helping anglers as weeds thicken across the ponds. Haymeadow and Cold Springs Reservoirs have been good for crappie with anglers using small jigs and night crawlers. Bass are active and hitting on jigs and tubes. The other ponds are good fly fishing for trout early in the day and towards evening as they hit the surface for bugs.

URBAN PONDS

Bluegill are taking meal worms and night crawler pieces throughout the day. Catfish are taking stink baits and night crawlers. Please discard fishing line in provide trash bins or pack it out to be recycled. 12 and older need a Nevada fishing license and there is a total of three-fish limit at all urban ponds.
