Shasta Lake trout bite picks up this week!
5-4-2021
Jeff Goodwin
Shasta Lake fished really well the past few days and both trips ended with quick limits. We finished early Monday and today. Lake surface temps are coming in at 65 degrees and I'm finding my bites in the top 20' this week. The black ant hatch subsided the past few days so the bite definitely picked up. The bigger fish have been biting in the afternoon after the smaller trout have their morning feeding schedule finished it would seem. Thats an always changing pattern, but thats what we're seeing this week.
