The Fall River has been fishing well. Spreading out is the best move you can make out there. Try to find areas that aren’t hit constantly and you’ll be more likely to find a fish that’s actively feeding. Don’t be afraid to get tactical out there. Army crawling into your spot may seem ridiculous, but it’s a great way to ensure the fish aren’t spooked. Blue wing olives will be the predominant hatch. A couple different caddis have been hatching as well. There have been some reports of decent march brown hatches, so keep your eye out for those. Euro nymphing tactics are tried and true on the Fall, but conventional nymphing can also be effective. Use a small indicator or a dry fly so you don’t spook the fish. If all else fails try using a streamer. You’d be surprised by how aggressive some of those fish are. The forecast shows that things start off cooler this week and later on we move into some warmer weather. Springtime on the Fall River is phenomenal, have fun out there!
