Water Conditions: Fair, showing 9 cfs as of 4/1
Fishing Conditions and Hatches:Good
Access has greatly improved and even the trails have little snow on them. It's getting more crowded but the fishing is still good and the weeds are gone. Midges early and late with a sporadic mayfly and caddis hatch midday but there are days when the mayfly hatches are stronger, especially on cloudy days. Mayflies are in the #16-20 range and remember that the Baetis spinner fall coincides with the hatch so be prepared with patterns for multiple stages. Case caddis patterns have been the most productive nymph pattern. Streamers have also been producing well with olive seeming to be the preferred color. The most productive window is 11 to 2. If you're lucky enough to be down there on a calm evening the caddis hatch is impressive but even the windy evenings have been good on small mayfly and caddis nymph patterns.
