Weekend fishing

  • Ocean fishing for rockfish and lingcod has been good on the coast with many anglers landing limits of rockfish and lingcod.
  • Most coastal waters are too high for winter steelhead fishing right now, but look for some to be back in shape by Sunday or early next week.
  • Some waterbodies in the NW, Willamette and SW zones were stocked with trout prior to last weekend’s Free Fishing Weekend. With terrible weather and few anglers on the water, most of those fish are still around to catch. Look for updates in the zone reports.
  • Ice fishing is still an option, with good ice conditions in many locations. The ice fishing season may start winding down soon, so take advantage of this opportunity while you can.

Sign up for a hunter ed field day

If you were unable to complete a field day last year due to COVID restrictions, you’re not off the hook. The temporary rule expires on March 31, and you’ll still need to complete a field day before you can hunt this fall. Find a field day.
