Lake Poway Trout Season: Lake will be stocked Thursday December 17th with 1,500 lbs of Rainbow Trout 

The trout bite on the shoreline was great during the week but slowed a bit during the weekend. Catfish are always biting; Brandon and Ethan Counts caught their 19 lb. catfish fishing on a boat off the Log-Boom on December 12th using cut up mackerel (See photo).  Best baits for trout have been natural colored mini jigs, spinners, and power bait. 

When you stop by concessions to buy your permit keep a 6 ft. distance when in line and adhere to the maximum occupancy for the store.  Ask about the best spots and baits. They have up to the minute information.
