We are still getting some great striper activity. The most activity has been along the shores of the Colorado River here below the Davis Dam. Our visiting angler Xavier Contreras was visiting grandpa Pat Fordham and landed a nice catch of striper while fishing in the Big Bend area from grandpa’s boat using anchovies. Grandma Christine was along to help out also.

A bit further down stream below the nature center Melissa Hussman and Ron Zak were fishing from shore and landed a couple of nice stripers one weighed in at 5.96 pounds and was 26 and 1/4 inches while the other at 2.76 pounds and 19 and 3/4 inches and yep anchovies works super. I am getting word that there have been a bunch of the 1 to 2 pound stripers being brought in at Community Park and near the Casino Area.

The other good news we are getting some nice rainbow trout from the Willow Beach Hatchery. I did hear about our abatement dept. had stocked some of the smaller trout to help with the caddis fly issue. Trout, being a schooling fish, the smaller ones tend to follow the schools and can get to your bait fairly quick. So if you are doing catch and release try to be careful and not damage the fish. Don't handle it much and get it back in the water as soon as you can if it has swallowed the hook down deep you will need to cut the line and the fish will be fine. This also goes for your spinner you have to cut the line or keep the fish.

No word from up on Lake Mohave except for some small mouth action along the shelves with some plastics working well.
