Opening Day of Sage Grouse Season Tomorrow

9-25-2020
Nevada Department of Wildlife

Tomorrow, Sept. 26, 2020, is opening day of sage grouse season in many areas around Nevada. We would appreciate hunters putting the best wing from each bird into one of the paper envelopes with some basic information so that we can get valuable data from the harvest. From the wings biologists are able to determine the gender of the bird, whether it is an adult or juvenile, and if it is an adult female, whether it was successful in raising a brood. Before hunting, please be sure to check our Small Game Guide for regulations and season dates in your area. You can buy a hunting or combination license at www.ndowlicensing.com.
